Accreditation / Compliance

High Plains Technology Center is accredited by the Oklahoma Board of Career and Technology Education and the Oklahoma Department of Education.  Students and constituents may request a copy of our accreditation information by contacting the Assistant Superintendent - Daytime at 580-571-6128.  The documents requested will be supplied within 10 working days.

OBCTE is the accrediting body for all technology centers in the state of Oklahoma. Additionally, OBCTE is granted the rights and authority by the U.S. Department of Education to approve educational institutions for federal financial aid and ensure post-secondary education institutions quality of instruction for credit granting purposes. This means High Plains Technology Center programs are approved through OBCTE for meeting established measures for quality. Business and Industry authorities also accredit individual programs.

Freedom of Expression Policy 

Free Expression on Campus Report

High Plains Technology Center has not had any barriers to or incidents of disruption of free expression occurring on campus. This includes any attempts to block or prohibit speakers or any investigations into students or student organizations for their speech. Since there were no incidents of disruption, no disciplinary action was needed.

High Plains Technology Center maintains an educational record for each student who is or has been enrolled at the Technology Center. Any questions concerning the student’s rights and responsibilities under the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act should be referred to the office of the assistant superintendent. Copies of the complete Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (found in the Administrative Handbook) are available upon request.

Qualifications and Training for Compliance Coordinator: Jennifer Dew

Jennifer Dew holds a bachelor’s degree in Special Education and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership. With 21 years of experience, she has served as a special education teacher and director, gaining extensive knowledge of IDEA and ADA regulations.
