NWOK Veterans Day was a big success, highlighting the need for VA services in the area.

High Plains Technology Center hosted around 120 veterans from all across NWOK to take advantage of the OKC Veterans Healthcare System Community Engagement Day on January 30, 2024. There were around 35-40 VA representatives on hand for veterans to receive help with a broad range of services such as filing service-connected claims, enrollment into VA healthcare, and VA ID card issuance and renewals.

“This was our 3rd Veterans event in NWOK and hosted at High Plains Technology Center. Once again, the turnout demonstrates there’s a huge demand/need for Veteran Services in NWOK. It was great to see such an amazing turnout and even if only one Veteran was helped it was worth every ounce of effort & time.” Jack Day, HPTC Wind Tech Instructor, Navy Veteran, and Coordinator of the VA NWOK event.
