HPTC’s largest Advanced Wind Technician Class to date

The demand for wind technicians has been on the rise in recent years as the world becomes more environmentally conscious. Wind energy is a clean, renewable source of energy and it is quickly becoming a more popular alternative to traditional energy sources. High Plains Technology Center recognizes this need and has taken steps to produce more advanced wind technicians in as little as 20 weeks.

The latest Advanced Wind Tech Class began in July of 2023 and will graduate 20 new Wind Techs by December of the same year. These graduates will be equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to begin their new career in Wind Energy immediately after graduation. This program focuses on hands-on training and real-world experience to prepare students for the challenges they will face in the field.

Becoming a wind technician requires a unique combination of skills. These skills include mechanical aptitude, problem-solving abilities, and a strong work ethic. The job can be physically demanding and requires individuals who are comfortable working at heights and in all types of weather conditions. However, for those who possess these skills, a career in wind energy can be both rewarding and fulfilling.
